(Dec. 24, 2009) Join the Hunterdon County YMCA with a Friend for the Workout Together Program

To help start the New Year off right, the Hunterdon County YMCA proudly introduces its Workout Together Program. This program is designed to encourage friends to work together to inspire and motivate each other to reach their health and wellness goals in 2010.

From January 2 through February 28, when two friends join the Hunterdon County YMCA together, they can take advantage of the Workout Together Program. The program includes a complimentary personal training session for two, plus the opportunity to complete the YMCA’s complimentary Fitness Orientation and FitLinxx Orientation together. As YMCA members, they will have full use of the Round Valley Branch (Annandale) and Deer Path Branch (Flemington), which has a gymnasium and 6-lane lap pool, plus unlimited fitness classes and childwatch/babysitting for parents with young children.

As an added benefit the friends can work together to complete the YMCA New Year’s Fitness Challenge. Through February 28, the Hunterdon County YMCA is encouraging new and current members to try the YMCA New Year’s Fitness Challenge. This fun challenge gives participants the opportunity to win prizes for completing fitness activities.

The Workout Together Program is open to all new and current YMCA members who bring a friend to join the YMCA as a full member. The Workout Together Program is not valid for Program Memberships or Strong Kid Seventh Grade Memberships. To find out more about the Workout Together Program, please call or stop by the Deer Path Branch, 908-782-1030, 144 West Woodschurch Road, Flemington or the Round Valley Branch, 908-236-0055,1410 Route 22 West, Annandale or visit www.hcymca.org.

(Dec. 22. 2009) Winter Session Dance Classes at the Hunterdon County YMCA begin January 4. The Hunterdon County YMCA offers dance classes for boys and girls from age 2 through age 14. Classes are offered at both the Deer Path Branch in Flemington and Round Valley Branch in Annandale. Classes include parent-child dance, pre-ballet, combination ballet and tap classes, jazz and hip-hop. Recitals are performed every 14 weeks and the YMCA provides the costumes for the recitals.

The Winter Session of classes at the Hunterdon County YMCA begins on January 4 and runs through February 20. YMCA programs are open to all and financial assistance is available to qualified applicants.

Dance can benefit a student by developing good posture, poise and grace while promoting friendships, self-¬¬¬esteem and confidence. It also stimulates creativity and imagination and encourages the appreciation of the performing arts.
